Dr Agnieszka Malczewski is a medical oncologist based at Icon Cancer Care Chermside, the Wesley and North Lakes. Her clinical interests include treating all solid tumour types, especially gastrointestinal cancers and melanoma. After graduating from James Cook University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Hons 1) and the University Medal, she completed her oncology training in Brisbane in 2012, with rotations through the Princess Alexandra, Prince Charles, Redcliffe and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals.In 2011, Dr Malczewski was Queensland’s trainee representative for Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA). Throughout her training, she has maintained an active interest in teaching and research. Dr Malczewski undertook her fellowship at the University of Oxford in 2012 – 2013, where she had a strong focus on early phase clinical trials and melanoma. At the same time she conducted laboratory research at the Ludwig Institute, investigating the molecular biology of melanoma. Dr Malczewski’s experience within this area extends to the new, targeted melanoma treatments and immunotherapy. She holds the position of senior lecturer with the University of Queensland.
